Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport Grand Opening

May 1, 2010 marks the beginning of  a major mile stone for Paulding county, Georgia. At 10:00 Saturday morning the ribbon was cut opening the doors for New Business Development and Economical growth with the new full service FBO and airport terminal building.

Among those present for the ribbon cutting was David Austin, Chairman of the  Board of Commissioners for Paulding County, Calvin Thompson of  Thompson Grading, President of the Paulding county airport authority and Blake Swafford, director of the Paulding airport.

The Sun N Funs first incident!

The well know Sun-N-fun fly in, in Lakeland, Fl kicks off tomorrow april 13th, 2010.  An arriving airplane skidded off the runway this afternoon, Lakeland Police said. According to a report, Douglas Alan Jones, 59, of Belaire, Md., was landing his Luscombe Model 8-A airplane at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport about 2:47 p.m. when it went off the runway and into the grass. The Commemorative Air Force

The Dixie Wing was approved as the 83rd CAF unit on February 28, 1987, and has since displayed its collection of vintage World War II aircraft in numerous air shows throughout the Southeast. The wing is a non-profit, tax-exempt “flying museum” that depends on contributions of time and funds to carry out its mission.
